"What a joy it was to be in Snuol last week and see the team in action! Children singing enthusiastically and listening carefully to the story; men, women and young people joining in the worship and paying close attention to the Bible teaching; a worried mother so grateful for Joachim's visit and prayer over her sick daughter; contacts being made, friendships being developed.

We also had the opportunity to visit one of the schools where Muriel is working. One of the teachers there described her role as "helping develop our minds". Muriel teaches from time to time in order to model how to teach English effectively, but her main job is to train the Cambodian teachers to do their job better. Capacity building was one of the key core values discussed at the Development Work Forum earlier this week. As OMF Development Workers, we aren't just here to do a job, we're here to train, equip and enable others to do those jobs.

Of course, we want to do more than this. By living a life of integrity and by sharing the Good News with sensitivity we hope that many people will come to faith and maturity in Jesus Christ. Can I ask you to take a few extra minutes this weekend to pray especially for the teachers that Muriel works with - and for the friends and colleagues of all our Development Workers? Thank you

Unser Auftrag
